My avatar died again tonight, and very much in the same fashion. However, I found something important.

The origin of the plague was a man named Leger, supposedly the name of the person in the real world who first exhibited symptoms. My job was to find in this avatar the "seed" causing the disease, and adjust the "factors of contagion" to rid the "undead contagion element." However, I quickly discovered that I was unable to do so, for there was no "seed" but a "kernel."

"Kernels," by the way, are immutable; their attributes cannot be changed.

I reported the kernel issue to Jax, who was in complete denial at first, thinking that my notes were based off a complete mis-observation on my part. I had this happen once before, though, during my brief membership in the Third Level Society. So I was clever enough to copy the algorithm and send it to my account notebook.

"But..." Jax said. "That's impossible. Who in the world would be able to actually plant a kernel!? I know none of my colleagues would do it. And it's impossible to join as an Administrator without unanimous consent."

"There are ways around that, most likely," I said.

"So you've insisted for awhile. In that case, now's your opportunity to prove it. Go back there and find out who did this, if you can."

"It will be a lot of trial and error. But I'll see what I can do."
