Two days ago, we reconvened as the Public Stand was given to the chosen speaker: Former Headmaster Thomas Snow.
Snow acknowledged his association with Cross. Accordingly, they had been roommates, and had formed the "Project" together with Merlin Kent Ogden, who had been an older figure from the former Cabotton mines, not a student of the Institute but very good friends. Together, the three figures saw a practical purpose to establish an ongoing dymensional plane. They were aware of potential dangers associated with the exposure of a dymensional plane to greedy politics; so they set out to try and eradicate this through research and democratic input.
According to Snow, the "Project" failed because a certain influx of politics resulting from the intervention by the new and oppressive school Administration made the founders realize how valuable a dymensional plane was. So when the "Project" was terminated, the Algorithms Book was handed to Merlin Ogden for safekeeping; Merlin died a number of years back, having willed the Book to pass to Ivella.
Ivella kept it as promised, but had made a copy of it to use for the ongoing TableQuest session that went awry on 124 West Mason Street. As soon as she sensed treachery, Ivella snatched this copy, thus dismantling the TableQuest session, and ran to one of her closest friends on campus. In secrecy, they had established the Third Level Society, amending the copy of the Algorithms Book so that the outlay of the multi-faceted dymensional plane of the Arturian Realm that we know today came into existence.
Snow stated that he had initially viewed Ivella's decision to copy the Book as reckless, but had come to view it with respect and reverence.
Snow acknowledged Cross' fear of dymensional plane engagement leading to treachery and how that had a dangerous potential to tip the balance at Cabotton University, voicing understanding for Cross' desire to maintain stable dynamics at the University by establishing his traditional curriculum reform policies. But then he also cautioned Cross to not over-impose his agenda, for the foundation of the University was a source of ideal for the establishment of the Retunian Republic, and that any compromise had the potential to echo itself on a national scale in the years to come.
With regard to the Third Level Society itself, Snow stated that the Society not only has checks and balances to combat such issues as arose in the old TableQuest sessions, the Society has been serving as a blueprint for a new, shall we say, fashion in the art of engaging in a dymensional plane. Such a future would be compromised with the termination of the Society; and even administrative interference on behalf of the University would cause trouble.
Thomas Snow ended with the bold statement: "Leave them to their own devices."
With nothing else to say from the side supporting the current Headmaster, the Panel of Mediators stated that they would spend the remainder of the week discussing their decision and make an announcement come Monday evening.
To this day, no one knows the identity of the initial whistleblower.
