The weather is significantly colder. The trees are significantly more brilliant. It is cold and rainy, but it is beautiful.
The papers and radio broadcasts are discussing some sort of disaster that happened recently in the town of Oberhell, located in the Northeasternmost part of the Acrean Republic in the Far North. Accordingly, they had a network of lakes in various locations up the side of a mountain range, and that network of lakes was managed by a network of dams. Recently, however, the dams were somehow mismanaged, causing the waters to overflow their banks and cascade down the village streets. This was made worse by a long-lasting heavy rainstorm, which the area gets around this time of year.
I've come to find out that Daniel Carter was there along with Kara Martins' brother, Stephen Martins; they were the ones reporting on this for Retunian media firms.
I can't make sense of how they were there to begin with, but apparently something convinced them that this was the location of Ceri Mains. And now they're blaming the flooding on her, illustrating what I believe is a fake rumor of darkfire crafting.
And this is being propagated all around the Third Level Society Caucus by Peter Crane and Kara Martins. Kara has, of course, been talking about how her brother saw the Great Oak Tree glow purple minutes after that lightning strike last month. Kara is also bringing up the White Baroness again, this time accusing Dyla Cormick of being the one behind this still-mysterious avatar in order to try to carry out Ceri Mains' agenda to infiltrate the Third Level Society.
They have been spreading misinformation like this since even after Ceri Mains' departure back on September 6. I've been helping Taylor and Sarah to try and stop this through the same group they led to get Headmaster Lach to not expel Mary Kormann's academic file, hence why I've been quite busy.
There's still no name yet given to the organization. However, we now have a little more structure in that we meet regularly to bring up every claim that Martins' makes that is unfounded, and then come up with sound rebuttals to debunk each of these claims. Of course most of us know the claims are false, but we also know that it is important to determine how to discover and argue that the claims are false. "We have to act rational," Sarah said at a meeting once.
Dyla joined recently and convinced everyone to vote to go on a scavenger hunt for Kara Martins' flyers, of which there a lot, and burn them. I was against that idea, for that gives us a bad image. But even Sarah supported it. So there was not much I could do.
