Story Nine: Sophia Qalmers

Last night was my trial. I explained my side of the story and Brythar his. It was apparent that he fabricated the evidence against me. And so he, himself, is now suspended from the Society.

That would be all and well, had he not done what he did the night before. The night before last, he convinced enough Members to hold a Caucus meeting, where he got the Bookkeeper to call for a final vote on that radical containment measure. I was there that night as well, and my speech swayed almost just enough people to push the vote against him.

However, one vote was needed to complete that. It could have been me, but I was unable to vote.

So Brythar's idea passed.

Brythar may not be there now, but the damage has already been done. I tried to lead a cause for Victoria the Bookkeeper to reconsider the vote, but she said that the notion could only be so only if two thirds of the Caucus backed me.

My one hope now is that Rose Anne is quite popular; and so is Josh Marquin. Lately, though they have been quiet on the whole Gold Empire thing. I am not sure why exactly but perhaps I could have a bit of hope.
