Finbow's Legion was usually the orderly entity carrying vigilante patrols against smugglers in the sector of Galacia. Today, however, we were defending the outlaws.
A group of avatars smuggling traded goods out of eyeshot of the Crimson Lion had, unfortunately, been caught by them. The Lion had them imprisoned in a fortress, and they needed rescue. So Commander Finbow, the avatar cast by my good friend, Erica Clemens, ordered me to have my avatar, Captain Bornan, head a group of airships to defeat that stronghold and rescue the prisoners. We located the stronghold on the Northern Tip of North Island and struck with terrifying force. The Crimson Lion, having dispatched its army of airships and boats and fixed-wing aircraft, struck back with ferocity. Avatars and airships on our side fell left and right. My avatar was killed and forced to respawn in his hometown of Mount Telon, East of the Battlefield. After a scramble, I managed to heist an airship from an abandoned shipyard and return to the battle, only to find that it was over.
The Tyneer Coalition, they called themselves, a small group of very feisty airmen and airwomen, had arrived as reinforcements on our side and swept the Crimson Lions off the battlefield. The leader of this ally was Nordonis, an avatar cast by my closest friend, Mordon Cramer. I was amazed, for the last time I interacted this avatar, he was a new and low-level player intent on simply being a bandit. Though Mordon is two years ahead of me, he did not join the Society until this spring; and I was the one who mentored him.
I spoke with Mordon later on and told him that I had been misunderstood. I thought that he had lost interest after the first couple months, for I heard nothing from him or his avatar. I would see him in passing between classes, but we were both quite busy with schoolwork.
Surprisingly though, he was still engaged in the Arturian Realm with his avatar. Nordonis started off as a bandit, but then traded his way up to a large secret fleet of salvageable airships. Nordonis is now quite powerful, moreso than my own avatar. And furthermore, Mordon mentioned to me that he, himself, was mentoring a new Member of the Society, though she had not yet made her avatar. What surprised me more, however, was the moment I became acquainted with the new Member.
It was Carla Wright.
Carla Wright is no new person to me. In fact, I knew her from when I was in high school. She was a year younger than me, and was, in fact, a student who I mentored in a group project. She seemed shy at first but then grew quite assertive. I was initially offended by this at first but then grew to have a bit of reverence, for she can lead; and she can do it well.
